The town of Escúzar, in the province of Granada, hosted the first edition of the Temple Science Fair on March 27 and 28, an innovative event for the region.

Organized by the Escúzar City Council alongside organizations such as Industry Office, IFMIF-DONES, the Granada Chamber of Commerce, INEUSTAR, Puntos Vuela, and with the collaboration of AI Granada Research & Innovation Foundation, among many others, the fair offered two days full of workshops, demonstrations, and interactive activities aimed at sparking scientific curiosity from an early age.

Artificial intelligence, robotics, Beebot, virtual reality, and video game programming were just some of the highlights that captured the attention of young attendees and showcased the potential of new technologies in learning and science outreach.

The event concluded with a screening of the animated short film “Estela”, followed by a talk by its director, Manuel Sicilia, who shared with the audience the creative process behind the film and reflected on how cinema and creativity can serve as powerful tools to inspire interest in science.

The celebration of this fair coincides with the installation of the IFMIF-DONES facility in Escúzar, an international scientific project that is positioning the town as a European hub for research and technological innovation. With this initiative, the Temple region is taking a significant step toward strengthening scientific culture in its territory.

The organizers gave special thanks to the students, teachers, facilitators, science communicators, and volunteers, the true protagonists of this first edition, for their enthusiasm and participation, which made the success of the first Temple Science Fair possible.
