José Moisés Martín Carretero, General Director of CDTI Innovation, chaired today a working group in which 20 entities from the Spanish innovation ecosystem participated to co-design 3 socially-oriented missions for the upcoming 2025 call of the Science and Innovation Missions program.

In line with the 2024-2027 Strategic Plan, CDTI Innovation promotes co-creation and co-design as an innovative approach to improve the effectiveness and impact of its initiatives and programs. To achieve this, it actively collaborates with numerous stakeholders from the Science, Technology, and Innovation System (companies, knowledge-generating centers, public administrations, etc.) in defining its instruments from the outset.

This meeting also saw the participation of 40 entities online.

After the meeting held on March 6, where 4 industrial-oriented proposals were presented, today’s meeting focused on defining and refining, incorporating the vision of the participating innovation ecosystem agents, 3 socially-oriented missions: Innovation in the healthcare model to reduce hospital stays and healthcare pressure; Responsible artificial intelligence; and Safe management of territory in the face of adverse weather phenomena.

These 7 missions, with adjustments and modifications that will be incorporated during their design process, will be included in the upcoming Science and Innovation Missions call, a program aimed at financing ambitious R&D projects developed in business consortia that address the socio-economic challenges currently facing Spain and developed societies.
