Six public Andalusian universities, the Calar Alto Observatory (Almería), and the Institute of Astrophysics of Andalusia (IAA), part of the Spanish National Research Council (CSIC) in Granada, are already carrying out 28 R&D projects in the fields of astrophysics and high-energy physics, thanks to €7.74 million in funding granted by the Andalusian regional government under the Complementary Plan for Astrophysics and High-Energy Physics.
Of the total amount, Granada receives €5.16 million to support 19 research projects through the University of Granada (UGR) (€1.97 million) and the IAA (€3.19 million).
This was highlighted by the Minister of University, Research, and Innovation, José Carlos Gómez Villamandos, during the presentation of this research initiative, whose aim is to deepen the exploration of the universe and its components.
