ITER BUSINESS FORUM 2025
Granada’s industry reinforced its international position in the fusion energy sector through its prominent participation in the ITER Business Forum 2025 (IBF2025), held in Marseille. Industry Office, together with the IFMIF-DONES Spain Consortium, led an unprecedented business mission involving 14 companies from Granada at the most significant industrial event in their field.
OFFICIAL SIGNING OF THE INDUSTRY OFFICE STATUTES
Almost two years ago, our initiative was born with a clear purpose: to create an industrial ecosystem that connects science and industry, promoting innovation projects and generating economic impact in our region.
On January 10, 2025, with the legal formalization of the institution, we take another step in our mission to transform the business fabric of Granada and position it as a national benchmark in science and technological industry.

CONECTA INDUSTRY OFFICE DAY
The purpose of this first event was to strengthen the local business ecosystem and promote collaboration among Granada companies, especially in relation to opportunities offered by IFMIF-DONES and other major science and industry infrastructures.
Throughout the day, CONECTA’s goals and purpose were presented, along with key talks on the importance of creating synergies and taking advantage of public procurement, innovative purchasing, and consortia opportunities.

TEMPLE SCIENCE FAIR
The fair, organized by Escúzar City Council in collaboration with entities such as Industry Office, IFMIF-DONES, Chamber of Commerce of Granada, INEUSTAR, Puntos Vuela, and Fundación AI Granada Research & Innovation, was held over two days with workshops, demonstrations, and interactive activities to encourage interest in science from an early age.
March 28–29, 2025
Topics included: artificial intelligence, robotics, Beebot, virtual reality, and video game programming to showcase their potential in education and outreach.
The event closed with a screening of the animated short film Estela and a talk by its director, Manuel Sicilia, who explained the creative process and highlighted the role of cinema and creativity in inspiring scientific vocations.

iNFORMATIONAL BREAKFAST WITH “GRANADA HOY” NEWSPAPER
This session focused on the impact of the IFMIF-DONES project on Granada’s industrial and technological development. Experts and business leaders discussed how this initiative acts as a catalyst for attracting investments, talent, and companies, and explored strategies to consolidate an innovative regional ecosystem.

TRANSFIERE FORUM
Industry Office took part in the roundtable “Andalusia and the Race for Fusion: Industry, Research and Talent”, as part of Transfiere 2025.
The event brought together industry representatives, researchers, and professionals to analyze the opportunities and challenges associated with fusion energy development.

The discussion emphasized Andalusia’s strategic role and the importance of collaboration among ecosystem actors. Transfiere 2025 served as a space for dialogue and cooperation to strengthen the region’s position in research and energy innovation.

II I+DONES FORUM
Held in Granada, the II I+DONES Forum brought together experts, companies, and institutions to strengthen collaboration between science and industry around the IFMIF-DONES project. Over two days, technical workshops were held on cryomodules, diagnostics, AI, and construction, alongside institutional and business presentations.
April 10–11, 2024
The second edition exceeded expectations, with the participation of around 200 companies, reaffirming the growing interest of the productive sector in joining the particle accelerator ecosystem.
Of all the attending companies, 10% were from Granada, reflecting the local commitment to this strategic project. With more than 200 participants, there were 125 B2B meetings and about ten consortium-building sessions for the creation of business consortia.
The program included technical workshops on key topics such as cryomodules, diagnostics, artificial intelligence, and construction, as well as institutional and business presentations. The event also promoted networking and innovative public procurement as tools to strengthen public-private collaboration.
The second Forum reaffirmed the role of IFMIF-DONES as a driving force for technological and industrial development in Andalusia and across Spain, opening new opportunities for innovation, business investment, and knowledge transfer.

I I+DONES FORUM
The Chamber of Commerce of Granada hosted the first edition of the forum, which brought together 150 companies from the local, regional, and national spheres, along with representatives from public administrations and the University of Granada.
The event was organized by the IFMIF-DONES Spain Consortium, in collaboration with Ineustar, CDTI Innovación, the University, the Chamber of Commerce, and with the support of entities such as OnTech Innovation, Safran, AVS, and Negratín.

During the event, ongoing projects were presented, new paths for cooperation were explored, and innovative technologies applicable to both IFMIF-DONES and other scientific infrastructures were promoted.
One of the highlights was the demonstration of a quadruped robot developed by Plain Concepts, based on Boston Dynamics technology and specifically designed for the needs of IFMIF-DONES.
The forum was consolidated as an event with a vocation for continuity, key to strengthening the connection between science and industry and for positioning Granada as a national and international benchmark in major scientific projects.
